Three Types of Common Pellet Machines

Pellet machines are mainly used to make all kinds of pellet products such as wood pellets and feed pellets. Flat-die type pellet machines and ring-die type pellet machines are the common used equipment in the market. In addition to them, there is a special pellet machine, the feed pellet extruders. Flat-die type pellet equipment is of simple structure. The major components of the flat-die pellet machine is mould and the rollers. When the material comes into the machine, under the function of the rollers and mould, the pellets will be extruded out and be cut into small pieces by the cutter that is installed below the mould.

Ring-die type pellet machines are high-efficiency equipment. The mould of this machine is a hollow perforated cylinder. In the cylinder, there are several rollers. The material will be feed into the cylinder, and the rollers will rotate. Then, the material will be squeezed out of the cylinder, and under the function of the cutter around the cylinder, the pellets will be made.

The last kind of pellet machine I will introduce is the feed pellet extruders. Unlike flat-die type pellet machines and ring-die type pellet machines, feed pellet extruding machines are mainly used to make animal feed such as dog food, cat food and fish pellets. The major parts of the feed pellet machine include the screw feeder, the pelletizing chamber, the cutter and the driving system. The temperature and the pressure in the chamber is high. When the material is extruded out of chamber, it will puff immediately because of the change of temperature and pressure. Therefore, the feed pellets are made by such extruders mostly porous puffed feed.
